Safety note: all boats carry full safety equipment (life jackets, first-aid kit, anchor, marine map). We monitor the official sea-state forecast every morning and will reschedule or refund if conditions are not safe. Children's life jackets are provided free of charge.

Yes — Greek law allows visitors to operate small motorboats up to 30 horsepower without a boating licence, provided they are over 18 and have a valid ID or passport. The boats we offer in this category fall well within that limit. You will receive a short safety briefing before departure.
Pick a license-free self-drive boat if you want full independence, you are comfortable around water, and you want to swim in your own bay at your own pace. Pick a boat with skipper if you prefer to relax, you want a local guide who knows hidden coves, you are bringing children, or the sea conditions favour an experienced driver.
License-free boats are intended for coastal cruising up to about 1 nautical mile from shore in good weather. The east coast between Mandraki and Anthony Quinn Bay is the typical playground — plenty of bays, swim spots and beach tavernas within easy range. For longer trips (Symi, Lindos, full-day exploration) we recommend a skippered boat.
Boat, fuel for the agreed range, safety equipment (life jackets, first-aid kit, anchor), a marine map of the area, and a 15-minute safety briefing. A cooler with ice is usually included. Snorkelling masks and snacks can be arranged on request.
Safety always comes first. If wind or sea conditions exceed safe limits on your booked day, we either move the rental to another day in your stay or refund in full. We make the call early in the morning based on the official forecast.
Yes — children of any age are welcome with proper life jackets (we provide child-size jackets free of charge). For families with very young children we usually recommend a boat with skipper, so the parents can fully focus on the kids.
